MUMBAI - AHMEDABAD BULLET TRAIN

The Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor (MAHSR) is being developed to connect two major cities, Mumbai and Ahmedabad. This would be the country’s first high-speed rail line, which will significantly reduce the travel time between both cities from 6 hours 35 minutes to 1 hour 58 minutes.

Vasai - Diva - Panvel Railway Line Extension

The Mumbai Rail Vikas Corporation (MRVC) is looking to augment the existing corridor between Vasai and Panvel via Diva. The line will become more important once the new international airport is operational.

Virar - Alibaug Multimodal Corridor

The Virar-Alibaug Multimodal Corridor (VAMMC) is a 126-km long multimodal corridor. The Multi Modal Corridor will be a crucial step towards development, strengthening and creating job opportunities in seven growth centers in MMR such as Virar, Bhiwandi, Kalyan, Dombivali, Panvel, Taloja and Uran. The Corridor will also be useful for the development of Navi Mumbai International Airport, JNPT Port, MTHL and Dedicated Freight Corridor. This Corridor will carry all the traffic from JNPT towards Navi Mumbai and Thane outside the city and will help reduce traffic congestion within the city. The travel time between Virar to Alibaug required today will also be reduced by 50%.

Delhi - Mumbai Freight Corridor

Government of India is developing the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC), first industrial corridor on the backbone of Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) between Delhi and Mumbai covering an overall length of 1504 km.

Mira Road - Virar Metro Corridor

It is a proposed metro project to connect Mira Road with Virar. The project length is 23 km and the estimated cost of the project is ₹6,900 crore. The DPR is created for this route This line will be operational by October 2030.

Mumbai Coastal Road

The 29 km-long Mumbai Coastal Road project (MCRP) is an under-construction access-controlled expressway that will connect areas between south and north Mumbai. Once complete, the stretch would reduce the travelling time between the two locations to 40 minutes.

Bhayander - Vasai Sealink

The 4.98-km-long and 30.6-metre-wide bridge will connect Bhayander West and Vasai West, reducing the travel time and distance between the areas by 90 minutes and 30 km. Vasai taluka's population of nearly 7.94 lakh is expected to benefit from the structure. The Bhayander-Vasai creek bridge alignment has been planned along the western side of an existing railway track where saltpan land is available and mangrove vegetation is very sparse and it belongs to the government. The project alignment commences from Uttan Road near Netaji Subhash Chandra ground at Murdha Gaon, passes salt pan land, patches of waterlogged area and mangroves at the Bhayender side (2.16 km) and Panju island (0.77 km), Vasai creek (1.45 km) and Naigaon (0.59 km). It terminates at Coutino Road near Naigaon.

Vasai Outstation Terminal

The new terminus will ease the present bottleneck at Vasai Road station. In order to reduce the load of outstation trains handled by the Bandra and Mumbai Central terminuses, the Western Railway (WR) has planned a new terminus at Vasai Road.
